1. Last summer, our whole extended family of ten went to Bali to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday.
지난 여름, 시어머니 칠순 기념으로 10명의 대가족이 발리로 여행을 갔습니다.

2. It was hot and chaotic from the moment we arrived, but I remember thinking, “Wow, we’re really in Bali.”
입국부터 덥고 정신없었지만 ‘진짜 발리에 왔구나’ 싶었습니다.

3. On the second day of the trip, my four-year-old daughter started crying. She said her mouth hurt after eating some cherry tomatoes.
그런데 여행 둘째 날, 네 살배기 딸이 방울토마토를 먹고 나서 입이 아프다며 울기 시작했습니다.

4. By that night, blisters broke out on her hands and feet.
밤이 되자 손발에 수포가 올라왔습니다.

수족구임을 직감했습니다.

며칠 동안 고열에 시달리던 딸이 나을 즈음, 첫째 아들까지 수족구에 걸리고 말았습니다.

8. I had imagined a picture-perfect vacation, but all I remember is taking care of my sick kids.
드라마 같은 휴가를 꿈꿨었는데, 아픈 애들 병 수발하던 기억밖에 안 납니다.

9. Even now, whenever I see cherry tomatoes, I am instantly taken back to what happened in Bali.
전 아직도 방울토마토만 보면 발리에서 생긴 그 일이 먼저 떠오릅니다.
