Good Neighbors

1. As someone who lives in an apartment, I can’t tell you how comforting it is to have a good relationship with the family next door.
 아파트에 사는 사람으로서, 옆집과 사이가 좋다는 것이 얼마나 마음이 편하고 든든한지 모릅니다.

 ● can’t tell you how: 얼마나 ~인지 말도 못하다
  - I can’t tell you how comforting it is to have a good relationship with the family next door.

 ● comforting: 마음이 편해지는, 위로가 되는
  - Her words were very comforting after a tough day.
   (힘든 하루 후에 그녀의 말은 큰 위로가 되었다.)
  - It’s comforting to know that everything will be okay.
   (모든 게 괜찮을 거라고 생각하니 마음이 놓인다.)
  - A warm blanket can be really comforting on a cold night.
   (추운 밤에는 따뜻한 담요가 정말 위로가 된다.)

2. Whenever we have something tasty, we ring each other’s bell and share it.
 우리는 맛있는 음식이 생기면 서로 벨을 누르고 나눕니다.

3. They’ve given us homemade kimchi, and we’ve shared freshly baked bread. There’s always food going back and forth.
 옆집에서는 담근 김치를 주고, 우리집에서는 갓 구운 식빵을 주는 등 서로 늘 음식이 오갑니다.

4. One day, I baked some bread and rang their bell.
 하루는 제가 빵을 구워서 옆집 벨을 눌렀습니다.

5. Before even opening the door, their little kid called out, “What kind of bread is it today?” It was so adorable that I couldn’t stop laughing.
 그런데 옆집 꼬마 아이가 문을 열기도 전에 “오늘은 무슨 빵이지?”라고 해서 너무 귀여워 한참을 웃었어요.

6. I feel happy knowing my kids are also making great memories with their neighbors while living here.
 우리 집 애들에게도 이곳에 사는 동안 이웃 간에 즐거운 추억이 많이 생기는 것 같아 기분이 좋아요.

 함께 지내는 동안 후회 없이 이웃 간의 정을 나누려 합니다.
