Baking a Birthday Cake

1. I am a third grader who studies “입트영” with my mom.

 나는 엄마를 따라서 〈입트영〉을 공부하는 3학년 아이다.

2. Last December, for my mom’s birthday, my dad and I made a strawberry whipped cream cake together.

 작년 12월 엄마 생신 때, 나는 아빠와 함께 딸기 생크림 케이크를 만들었다.

3. When we first told her we were going to bake her a cake, she did not seem all that excited.

 우리가 처음에 케이크를 만들어 준다고 했을 때, 엄마는 시큰둥한 반응을 보이셨다.

4. But once she got a taste of the finished cake, she said it was the best she had ever had. She was really touched.

 하지만 막상 완성된 케이크 맛을 보시고는, 이제껏 먹어 본 케이크 중 최고라며 무척 감격하셨다.

 이번 2월에 내 생일 때도 우리 가족은 케이크를 사는 대신 바나나 브라우니를 직접 만들었다.

 직접 만든 케이크 덕분에 생일이 더 특별하게 느껴졌다.
