1. Last summer, I went on an overseas trip with just my child.
 지난 여름, 아이와 단둘이 해외여행을 갔습니다.

 그 여행을 계기로 저는 정말 오랜만에 다시 영어 공부를 시작하게 되었습니다.

3. My child said that we had a great trip thanks to me, hailing taxis and ordering food in my clumsy English. That really motivated me to study.
 여행 중에 더듬거리는 영어로 택시도 잡고 음식도 시키는 엄마 덕에 즐거운 여행을 했다는 우리 아이의 말이 계기가 되어 공부를 하게 되었습니다.

● clumsy English: 서툰 영어
 - I hailed taxis and ordered food in my clumsy English.
  (더듬거리는 영어로 택시도 잡고 음식도 시켰습니다.)

4. It made me want to finally overcome my insecurity about speaking English.
 저의 콤플렉스로 남아 있던 영어 스피킹을 이번에는 극복하고 싶다는 꿈도 생겼습니다.

5. Now I practice speaking every day using the “입트영” textbook. And even my child, who has never shown much interest in English, is starting to get curious.
 이제 제가 매일 <입트영> 교재를 이용해 영어로 말하고 있으니, 평소 영어에 큰 관심이 없던 아이도 덩달아 흥미를 보이네요.

 <입트영> 덕분에 아이와 함께 성장하는 기회가 생겨 그 시간이 더욱 보람차게 느껴집니다.

A: Didn't you mention you're going on a pretty long trip?
B: Yes, I'm planning to be away for about two weeks.
A: Wow, that really is a long time.
B: I'm a little nervous about how well I'll be able to communicate over there.
A: But you've been studying English so consistently!
B: I have, but I'm not sure whether I'll be able to put what I've learned into practice.

A: 여행을 제법 길게 다녀오실 예정이라고 하셨죠?
B: 네. 2주 정도 다녀올 계획이에요.
A: 우아, 정말 길게 가시네요.
B: 현지에서 의사소통을 잘할 수 있을지 약간 걱정이 되네요.
