1. Lately, I’ve been completely hooked on studying English phrasal verbs.
 저는 요즘 영어 구동사(phrasal verb) 공부에 푹 빠져 있습니다.

● be completely hooked on: ~에 푹 빠져 있다
 - My daughter is completely hooked on mobile games.
  (딸아이가 모바일 게임에 푹 빠져 있다.)
 - I was completely hooked on jazz music for a while.
  (나는 한동안 재즈 음악에 푹 빠져 있었다.)

2. A phrasal verb is when a verb pairs up with an adverb or a preposition in an idiomatic way.
 구동사는 ‘동사와 부사’ 또는 ‘동사와 전치사’가 관용적으로 짝을 이루어, 두 단어가 하나의 동사처럼 사용되는 표현을 말합니다.

● pair up with: ~와 짝을 이루다
 - We all paired up with a partner for the assignment.
  (우리는 모두 파트너와 짝을 이뤄 과제를 했다.)
 - I paired up with a coworker to prepare the presentation.
  (나는 동료와 짝을 이뤄 발표를 준비했다.)

3. The two words work together like a single verb. Often, the two words combine to create a whole new meaning.
 두 단어가 결합해 완전히 새로운 의미를 만들어 내는 경우도 많습니다.

● work together: 함께 작용하다 / 조화를 이루다
 - The two departments work together to improve customer service.
  (두 부서는 고객 서비스를 개선하기 위해 함께 협력한다.)
 - These ingredients work together to create a unique flavor.
  (이 재료들이 함께 어우러져 독특한 맛을 낸다.)

4. Since last December, I’ve been taking a course on phrasal verbs taught by Lee Hyun-seok on EBS Audio Language School. The course has helped me to really dive into the subject.
 지난 12월부터 EBS 오디오 어학당에서 이현석 선생님의 구동사 강의를 들으며 본격적으로 공부를 시작하게 되었습니다.

● dive into: ~에 몰두하다, 깊이 파고들다
 - She decided to dive into learning French before her trip.
  (그녀는 여행 전에 프랑스어 공부에 몰두하기로 했다.)
 - The scientist dived into the research to find a solution.
  (그 과학자는 해결책을 찾기 위해 연구에 깊이 파고들었다.)

5. I started studying alone at first, but more friends joined in over time. And before we knew it, we had formed a study group.
 처음에는 혼자 공부를 시작했지만 점차 함께하는 친구들이 모이면서, 어느새 자연스럽게 스터디 그룹이 만들어졌습니다.

● before one knows it: 어느새, 자신도 모르게
 - We became good friends before we knew it.
  (우리는 자연스럽게 친한 친구가 되었다.)
 - We’ll get there before you know it.
  (자신도 모르는 사이에 금세 도착하게 될 거야.)

 스터디 그룹은 구동사 마스코트 캐릭터 ‘구백이’도 만들었습니다.

8. We also produce thumbnails and videos every day to share proof of our studies, constantly motivating each other to keep learning.
 또한, 매일 공부 인증용 썸네일과 동영상을 제작하며, 서로에게 꾸준히 학습 동기를 북돋아주고 있습니다.

● motivate each other: 서로에게 동기를 부여하다
 - The teammates motivated each other to work harder.
  (팀원들은 서로에게 동기를 주며 더 열심히 일했다.)
 - Friends can motivate each other to stay consistent in their studies.
  (친구들은 서로에게 동기를 주며 꾸준히 공부할 수 있다.)

<Dialogue>

A: I started by enrolling in lectures, and I eventually ended up forming a study group.
B: Wow, it must be fun to study as a group.
